Why on earth would you need it to get bigger?
It already stretches from one end of the world to the other, destroying every mortal creature, barrel, door and window in the map you're on.

I think I left levels 1-3 the same just made 4 have a huge radius and higher damage percentage...

EDIT: (not entirely sure, but you can find out for your selves)

You would be if the guards were alive, granted more will spawn but they could just as easily be killed.

I once made a unholy spell last for 3 minutes. Newly spawned guards would immediately get caught in it and explode from the damage.

Highly enjoyable to watch, but added nothing to the game.
